This position is located in the Division of Administration, Washington, DC Headquarters Office of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. The incumbent will provide support by assisting construction managers and architects with assigned projects and contracts. Additional selections may be made from this vacancy announcement to fill identical vacancies that occur subsequent to this announcement.

Duties

-Assists the Chief, Space Planning, Design and Construction Unit in reviewing architectural and engineering drawings, overseeing the FOS Operations by tracking contract task assignments, and auditing invoices. Screens publications, directives, and periodicals; and brings issuances of significance to the supervisor’s attention.

Qualifications

You must meet the eligibility and qualifications by the closing date of the announcement. To be found eligible for this program, applicants must: (1) be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a degree seeking program at a qualifying educational institution on a full or half-time basis; (2) have a minimum cumulative (overall) GPA of 2.50 out of 4.0; (3) be in good academic standing; and (4) have a graduation date AFTER May 1, 2025. Education requirements are established by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and must be met by close of announcement. Below are the requirements by grade: Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. CG- 7: To qualify, candidates must meet one of the following requirements: Education: Completion of 1 full year of graduate level education. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. OR Superior Academic Achievement (SAA): Superior Academic Achievement and completion of a bachelor’s degree (see SAA requirements below) OR Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG-5 grade level as described below OR Combinations of education and experience: A combination of graduate level education and specialized experience as described below that together meet the qualification requirements for this position. Specialized experience is defined as experience conducting research and analysis of architecture and engineering (A&E), and construction data, directives, and policies for reports; utilization of software applications to create presentations, draft plans, outlines, agendas, schedules, briefing materials, meeting notes and reports; and technical support for document reviews and establishment/maintenance of files. To qualify for SAA, applicants must have met one of the following: 1. A grade-point average of "B" (a GPA of 2.95 or higher out of a possible 4.0) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum. 2. A grade-point average of "B+" (a GPA of 3.45 or higher out of a possible 4.0) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum. 3. Rank in the upper one-third of your class in the college, University or major subdivision. 4. Membership in a national honor society (other than freshman honor societies) recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies.
