About the Position: Serves as the principal Administrative Assistant for the Commander, U.S. Army Training Support Center (ATSC). This position is eligible for regular and recurring telework - as determined by the agency policy.

Duties

Performs a wide variety of management, administrative and general office administrative functions in support of the Commander. Provides direct assistance to the Commander and Deputy Commander, in support of staff management responsibilities as it affects the day-to-day operations of the headquarters. Independently maintains the Commander's and Deputys calendars reflecting their appointments and conferences. Prepares and maintains personnel records, correspondence, and reports pertaining to civilian and military personnel matters as it directly relates to the commander. Operating office automation equipment to plan and accomplish routine and non-routine administrative procedural work of the office and coordinate a wide variety of office administrative requirements.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). GS-08 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes work such as: 1) implementing and providing advice on administrative procedures or policies 2) maintaining office files and records; 3) coordinating and managing projects, AND 4) coordinating travel arrangements and meetings for an office. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: ClericalCustomer ServiceManages and Organizes InformationTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement for GS-07:Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06). Time in Grade Requirement for GS-08: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07). NOTE:This position is developmental and may be filled at the GS-7 or GS-8 level. If selected at the GS-7 level the incumbent may be non-competitively promoted pending time-in-grade requirements and demonstrated ability to perform the next level/grade duties. The full performance level for this position is GS-8.
