About the Position: Serves as a Lead Medical Technician in a Military Entrance Processing Station over 3-5 Medical Technicians. Incumbent of this position provides technical expertise, guidance and leadership to the Medical Exam Group.

Duties

Maintain applicants medical records. Ensure proper format, coding, and completion of Department of Defense and USMEPCOM medical forms. Performs phlebotomy procedures using USMEPCOM standard safety precautions. Conduct standardized medical orientation briefing to applicants. Perform operator-level maintenance (including daily preventative maintenance and services) on testing equipment.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
  • Must be able to pass a color perception (vision) examination.
  • Must be physically able to perform (demonstrate) and evaluate military physical aptitude (maneuvers) tests.
  • Must undergo blood testing on a yearly basis.
  • Successful completion of applicable Military Health System (MHS) GENESIS Training within 30 days of on-boarding and/or as required.
  • Must use restrictive and protective clothing such as surgical gloves, employee cannot wear exposing footwear.
  • This position may require incumbent to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Per AR 600-85, this position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R and must pass a urinalysis test as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
