About the Position: Serve as the Directorate's advisor providing administrative and clerical support using a variety of processes and methods.

Duties

This is a developmental position being filled at the GS-07, GS-08, or 09 levels. The full performance GS-09 level of this position entails the following duties: Manage the Directorate’s administrative processes in accordance with regulations, processes, and procedures. Review and evaluate staff actions, such as memorandums, reports, studies, fact sheets, and information papers, for quality and compliance with policy. Receives visitors and telephone calls providing requested information and making referrals when necessary. Manages the supply needs and services for the office. Serve as the primary timekeeper managing time and attendance records.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. GS-08 Level: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) Experience utilizing automated processes and procedures to enter time and attendance records or purchase requests; (2) Experience utilizing automation applications, databases, and software packages to produce reports, spreadsheets, graphics, and electronic communications; (3) Experience reviewing and editing documents for grammar and punctuation to ensure accuracy and completion; and (4) Experience monitoring calendars, appointments, and facilities for several directorates or divisions This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: One and a half years of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as any major field of study. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond one year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages. GS-09 Level: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) Experience utilizing automated processes and procedures to create time and attendance records, purchase requests, or personnel actions; (2) Experience advising on office processes and procedures; (3) Experience maintaining an automated suspense tracking system or status log; and (4) Experience composing or reviewing correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, or presentations to ensure accuracy and completion. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: any major field of study. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: GS-07: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within in the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
