About the Position: The 832D Transportation Battalion Puerto Rico Detachment provides daily sustainment cargo distribution, In Transit Visibility (ITV) and surface deployment/water terminal operations throughout Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands and the Caribbean.

Duties

Monitor and report contractor performance to ensure contract requirements are met. Synchronize domestic and international moves through direction, analysis, and program management. Provide technical direction and supervision of traffic management activities in assigned Area of Responsibility. Develop policy guidance and support on DOD transportation matters. Plan, direct, coordinate, and supervise movement of cargo throughout the terminal.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • Position designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency/mobilization. Must be exempted from recall to active duty and receive training to ensure mission accomplishment of sustaining base operations during mobilization.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • Incumbent may be required to perform extended workdays/weeks to conform to military schedules. Incumbent is subject to all times to meet emergency situations.
  • Incumbent is required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450 upon entering the position and annually, in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R, Joint Ethics Regulation, dated 17-Nov-2011.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time.
