About the position: This position will be assigned to the Eglin NAF Accounting Office.

Duties

Receives and verifies deposits from NAF Activities; verifies accuracy and completion of forms and paperwork received. Performs all cash handling procedures and operational functions in accordance with local operating instructions. DoD, and air force regulations, collects cash receipts, checks, credit card receipts, and other supporting documentation. Prepares and issues change from funds as required. Prepares bank deposits and ensures daily deposits are made in a timely manner. Contracts activity managers to clarify any discrepancies in daily deposits. Prepares cash reports and notifies supervisor of any suspected irregularities. Consolidate Visa/Mastercard deposit and prepares daily report log. Responsible for balancing of change funds and Consolidated Central Cashier Control Log daily, prior to making bank deposit. Responsible for the oversight of debt collection and dishonored checks. Observes the cash collection from various coin operated machines throughout the squadron. Monitors and oversee the Private Organization (PO) program. Maintains PO files, examines budgets, balance sheet, and income and expense statements, reviews constitutions and bylaws, and processes fundraisers or other applicable packages. Provides instruction and guidance, IAW AF Instruction, to organizations that with to become a PO. Coordinates PO requests through the resources Manager and base legal office for approval by the installation commander or his/her designee. Performs all administrative procedures in the event of non-compliance to include drafting and sending memorandums of suspension and dissolution. Performs other related duties as assigned. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience in a responsible clerical or office work which demonstrated the ability to perform common arithmetic problems and to make change when receiving payments form customers. Must also have experience in the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit, or other processing of cash items which includes (1) direct handling of cash items, and (2) use of cash accountability control methods. Must possess basic computer skills, basic word processing procedures, and function keys to support office operations. Knowledge to produce a variety of documents such as form letters, entering data into a predefined spreadsheet or database is recommended. Must be familiar with personal computer applications such as Windows, MS Word, Excel, Access, and the Internet. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Must possess skill in dealing with customers and the public. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency check with Inquires (NACI).
