The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of production scheduling and supply tasks for indirect support of depot maintenance programs such as the repair, overhaul, manufacture, and/or modification of complex weapon systems.

Duties

Ensures scheduling of supplies and equipment. Schedule procurement of supplies equipment/PMEL items to meet the organization's needs. Researches a variety of tools, supplies, and material to correctly identify the items required. Performs a complete range of issuing duties on assigned items. Inspects turn-ins for damage and/or calibration requirements. Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations.

Qualifications

Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, CLERICAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT POSITIONS. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes:performing a variety of production scheduling and supply tasks for indirect support of depot maintenance programs such as the repair, overhaul, manufacture, and/or modification of complex weapon systems; weapon system end items such as aircraft, exchangeable, engines, missiles, and other major end items; and a variety of associated assets. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-­grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Ability to understand the organization's schedule to coordinate supply/equipment/PMEL activity to satisfy demand. 2. Ability to use tools and equipment; store various items; set up and maintain a neat, well organized secure storage area; receive, store, issue, and inventory parts/tools/equipment/PMEL; and maintain records using automated and/or mechanized systems without more than normal supervision. 3. Knowledge of inventory management procedures, processes, and requirements to initiate and include urgent or critically needed items. 4. Skill and ability to receive, screen, review, and verify supply documents with regard to supplies/equipment/PMEL purchased and resolve discrepancies. 5. Determine uses of overage's/shortages; determine need for calibration of tools; identify items by general descriptions from shop personnel, and setup/ shift storage locations. 6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The-employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and climb in industrial facilities where it is necessary to bend, crouch, stoop, reach, and lilt moderately heavy items. May be required to lift moderately heavy items. May also be required to perform these functions in obstructed areas. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The employee works in an office setting part of the time, but is a!so required to regularly visit production areas, which involve moderate risks, discomfort, and require safety precautions. Visits to industrial areas take place in all weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to strong odors,. fumes from paint, fuels, or chemicals used in the work processes. Regular use of safety equipment is an occupational requirement.
