This position is located in a National Park Service Unit. The primary purpose of the position is to provide administrative information and assistance to the Superintendent or the Manager of the unit, and staff to include budgeting, acquisition and property management, human resources, and other administrative support services, and to perform staff support work in each of these areas.

Duties

Duties include but not limited to: Provides accurate and reliable information on the administrative functions of the agency, headquarters, regional office, or center. Interacts with managers, supervisors, and staff members on matters related to administrative services by attending meetings and serving on appropriate work. Collects data for the agency's operating budget, consolidates material into an annual agency budget; sets up controls to monitor expenses during the year; and recommends budget adjustments including restructuring budget allocations or work plans to deal with changing situations. Serves as an advisor to the agency on procedures for the procurement of goods and services, and within delegated authority purchases supplies, equipment, and services for the agency utilizing a purchase card, or a blanket purchase agreement under micro-purchase authorities. Serves as the primary time keeper for the agency. Reviews time and attendance reports for employees and assures reports are correctly entered into QuickTime. Responsible for the administrative oversight of various administrative processes, which may include processing financial, procurement, property, human resources, and other administrative forms or documents for the agency. Maintains tracking logs, action items, and manages administrative functions. Qualifications

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-02/28/2024-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of specialized experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. For all other applicants who are not current federal employees, your resume must state either "full-time" (or "40 hours a week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected. SELECTIVE FACTOR: This position performs office automation work, and the incumbent has to meet requirement of typing 40 words pr minute (wpm). Candidates who do not meet this requirement by close of this announcement will receive no further consideration for this position. - AND - GS-06 To qualify for this position at the GS-06 grade level, you must possess all of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement. EXPRIENCE: At least one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal Service or equivalent. Specialized experience includes activities such as answering phone and providing answers to questions; using automated systems; assisting staff with Office of Workers Compensation issues; knowledge of regulatory requirements; assist with time and attendance balances; and assist with files. You must include hours per week worked. GS-07 To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess all of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as answering questions/providing guidance to employees regarding payroll issues; coordinating human resource activity; providing guidance to supervisors and management on personnel Issues; using automated systems; assisting staff with Worker's Compensation issues; knowledge and application of regulatory requirements; verify time and leave balances; providing program and administrative support; and maintaining files. You must include hours per week worked. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
