About the Position: Duties will include technical and administrative responsibilities for the development of major new Information Technology (IT) initiatives, including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing IT projects.

Duties

Provide input to program manager for source selection and contractor monitoring of acquisition phases from development through production and/or deployment. Apply program management principles to guide program accomplishment through the various phases of the acquisition cycle. Manage project teams, evaluating software to ensure timely, accurate, technically acceptable and complete deliverables. Advise appropriate authorities of significant actions or problems and seeks resolution. Prepare and/or present briefings, reports, papers, research findings, and/or software demonstrations through the chain of command up to General Officer/SES level. Assess progress in assigned IT projects/programs including cost estimates, schedules, and performance supportability baseline requirements by applying known IT software application methods and procedures. Analyze design, development, and test of computer software and hardware. Ensure proposed technical solutions are reasonable, affordable, logical and/or in compliance with Department of Defense (DOD), USTRANSCOM, SDDC, and Department of the Army (DA) guidelines and regulations.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification / re-certification for this position as outlined in DoD 8140.01 Cyberspace Workforce Management within 6 months of assignment.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
