About the Position: Serves as Information Management (IM) Officer, Chief, IM Branch and principal advisor to the US Army Crime Lab IM Chief.

Duties

Participates in internal and higher headquarters planning and decision-making meetings and conferences and advises the IM Chief on all IT matters and other functional programs for which responsible. Works as a member of a team, in the administration, development, delivery and support of IT systems and services. Leads a team of other General Schedule (GS) employees in accomplishing work. Supervises IT specialists engaged in application of standard software programs, development of new or modified software applications, introduction of new hardware, and oversight of hardware platforms and software systems. Performs highly complex problem resolution techniques, identifying the source of the problems, whether automation or communication hardware or software related, as well as analyzing system failures. Makes decisions and commitments relative to area of responsibility.

Requirements

  • Requires incumbent obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance for Critical-Sensitive position.
  • Position subject to Random Drug Testing in accordance with Drug Abuse Testing Program requirements.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, SF-450, upon entering the position and annually, in accordance with DOD Directive 5500.7-R, Joint Ethics Regulation, dated 30 August 1993.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Providing technical expertise on system operations, hardware, and a wide variety of logistics applications or programs. Appling knowledge of Information Systems Security (INFOSEC), Communication Security (COMSEC), Websites, and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
