About the Position: Serves as the Army Service Component Command (ASCC) Antiterrorism Officer (ATO) and subject matter expert within the G34 Protection Division. Coordinates and synchronizes antiterrorism plans and procedures with other protection program all-hazard initiatives. Executes AT risk management tools to include the integration of threat, criticality and vulnerability assessments for all Command activities.

Duties

Manages the Command’s Mission Assurance Risk Management System – Enterprise Program Risk Management (EPRM-MARMS) input and mitigates identified vulnerabilities. Serves as the Antiterrorism (AT) subject matter expert during Threat Working Group (TWG), Protection Working Group (PWG), Protection Executive Committee (PEC) meetings. Develops AT contingency plans and operational annexes. Identifies and prioritizes the AT program budget and funding allocations. Coordinates active shooter/workplace violence exercises throughout the Command. Develops terrorism incident response measures for reporting terrorist threat information, responding to threats/actual attacks and reporting terrorist incidents.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top-Secret with SCI security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • This position requires the incumbent to obtain the following core Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification: Antiterrorism Professional Certification (ATC) within their first two years of employment.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
