This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Chicago District, located in Appleton, Wisconsin. Incumbent report to will to the Lake Michigan Project Office Chief.

Duties

Ensure facility and equipment maintenance records and work orders are properly input and maintained in the computerized maintenance management system. Update and maintain required data and information in the computerized maintenance management system in accordance with latest directives. Work closely with other assigned personnel to capture relevant data including necessary supplies and materials, parts, labor resources and funding expenditures on specific work orders prior to changing the status. Monitor work order status using FEM and follows up with individual responsible employees to determine the status of work and expected completion dates. Maintain a variety of office files/logs, including a work order logs containing information on work requests to include details of work orders, requestor, and dates. Maintain correct status codes on all work orders in accordance with standard operating procedures, directives, and guidance form computerized maintenance management system program manager. Project and estimate allocations of non-contractual commitments and obligations in financial management system. Processes project travel orders and vouchers researching travel modes and accommodations. Serves as project timekeeper to monitor leave as well as overtime. Serves as ordering officer and credit card holder to purchase supplies. Provide estimates, establish tracking systems, and monitor expenditures to cost codes to assist in preparation of budget.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must obtain DoD government purchase card (GPC/VISA) within 2 months.
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license at time of appointment.
  • Incumbent must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Pre-employment physical may be required.

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. GS-05 General Experience: one-year specialized experience of which includes 1) Maintaining operation and maintenance information in automated management maintenance systems; (2) assisting with inventory and property records. (3) assisting project staff in the resolving of a variety of administrative problems. This definition of general experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. GS-06 General Experience: one-year specialized experience of which includes (1) Maintaining operation and maintenance information in automated management maintenance systems; (2) assisting with inventory and property records. (3) assisting project staff in the resolving of a variety of administrative problems. (4) Answering inquiries about change order status, modification status, another contract status questions. This definition of general experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: successfully completed a half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as business, secretarial. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. GS-07 General Experience: one-year specialized experience of which includes (1) Applying administrative guidelines necessary for project operations; (2) Maintaining operation and maintenance information in automated management maintenance systems; (3) maintaining inventory and property records. (4) assisting project staff in the resolving of a variety of administrative problems requiring the application of the various guidelines. (5) Answering inquiries about change order status, modification status, another contract status questions. This definition of general experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: successfully completed one full academic year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as business, secretarial. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
