The United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida's (USAO-SDFL) mission is to enforce and defend the laws of the United States of America through the prosecution of criminal cases brought by the Federal government; the prosecution and defense of civil cases in which the United States is a party; and the collection of debts owed to the Federal government that are administratively uncollectible.

Duties

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing Financial Technician (OA) support in the U.S. Attorney's Office, Southern District of Florida, located in Miami, Florida, focusing in the areas of financial management, financial systems, and office automation. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress. Typical work assignments will include: Serving as a Financial Technician for the District and has responsibility for recording and adjusting various funding obligations, travel authorizations, and preparing payments and reimbursements through the Unified Financial Management System (UFMS) or any Financial Systems. Performing a variety of technical financial management activities. Assisting with a full range of technical financial work, UFMS or other financial systems activities and compliance procedures requirement. Developing reports, and databases related to fiscal matters.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience and/or education for the respective grade level in which you are applying: To qualify at the GS-06 level, you must possess: Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal service performing (obtained in either the public or private sectors) the duties listed below: Performing accounting, budget, or financial management support duties related to recurring or standard transactions: Ensuring compliance with budget and/or financial regulations or laws; and Researching routine problems and/or errors that require reconciling incomplete information. To qualify at the GS-07 level, you must possess: Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in the Federal service performing (obtained in either the public or private sectors) the duties listed below: Utilizing various budget and financial regulations, laws and requirements to ensure compliance and recommend action when processing financial transactions; Using financial methods, procedures, and techniques to conduct financial analysis and determinations; and Researching financial problems or errors that require reconciling incomplete information to conduct extensive searches for required information and resolve inconsistencies. Typing Proficiency: To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required.)
