Duties

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for actively supports civil and/or criminal litigation teams by performing routine litigation support tasks necessary to prepare or manage electronic discovery, evidence, exhibits, and other electronically stored information relevant to investigations and casework, using a variety of methods and software applications. Typical work assignments will include:

Requirements

  • You must be a U.S. Citizen or National
  • Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation
  • You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable
  • If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
  • You must meet all qualification requirements upon the closing date of this announcement.

Qualifications

GS-09: To be eligible at the GS-9 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions, as defined below: Specialized Experience, Education, OR a Combination of Education and Experience. Specialized experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level. Specialized experience is defined as performing the following types of duties: Preparing and managing discovery, evidence, exhibits and casework. Performing routine and recurring litigation support assignments (e.g., PDF files, Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint files, emails, etc.). Providing assistance in litigation support and preparing a variety of legal related documents. OR Education: Applicants may also qualify based on education. To qualify for the GS-9 level, applicants must have one of the following types of education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. OR Combining Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the grade levels specified in the table, and may be computed by first determining the applicant's total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the applicant's education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level. Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies. If your agency has notified you in writing that you are a displaced employee eligible for ICTAP consideration, you may receive selection priority if: 1) this vacancy is within your ICTAP eligibility; 2) you apply under the instructions in the announcement; and 3) you are found well-qualified for this vacancy.
