This position is located in Department of Homeland Security, US Coast Guard, Training Center, Yorktown, VA

Duties

The primary purpose of this position is to provide essential support of the International Division. The incumbent will work directly with the Branch Chiefs through administration of various programs which require analytical ability, judgment, discretion, and knowledge of diplomatic/military customs and courtesies.

• This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
• This is a Term Appointment Not- to-Exceed 13 months.

Qualifications

Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-07 grade level in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include processing purchase requests; maintains detailed records of graduation events, to include guest lists, graduation scripts, speeches, photographs, and video recordings; conducts market research to determine sources of supply. OR master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D., if related OR A combination of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level and graduate education in or related to the work of the position to perform successfully the duties of this position. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
