About the Position: Serve as Secretary to the Office of the Chief of Staff, US Army South which includes the Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff and Deputy. US Army South serves as the Army Service Component Commander under US SOUTHCOM with an area of operation that encompasses 32 nations in Central/South America and the Caribbean.

Duties

Serve as primary POC for all classified message handling of secret documentation for the Command Group. Perform executive assistance designed to relieve the Office of the Chief of Staff of as much administrative details as possible. Coordinate local and overseas travel arrangements for the Director and Deputy Director. Assist the Office of the Chief of Staff in synchronizing the 12 staff directorates and 11 special staff offices. Manage the Director and Deputy Director calendars to ensure all priority appointments and meetings are met. Perform quality reviews on all authorizations and/or settlement vouchers in an automated travel system such as DTS assuring requested allocations are authorized and/or appropriate.

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • This position requires a qualified typist .

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementClericalCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical)Oral Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-???????07).
