About the position: This position is located at the Community Activity Center on Holloman AFB, New Mexico. This is a flexible position where the incumbent will work anywhere from 0-40 hours per week. Physical Effort: Light physical effort in reaching, bending, turning or moving hands, arms, feet and legs. Frequent handling of objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Lifting and securing safety chains, towbars, and hooks. This is a drug testing designated position.

Duties

The primary purpose of this position is to operate a motor vehicle in conjunction with events/trips coordinated through the 49 Support Squadron. Duties will include, but are not limited to: Operates a variety of vehicles including pickup/panel/flatbed trucks, panel trucks, carryalls, sedans, buses and passenger vans that weigh up to 10,000 pounds. Transports personnel, supplies, materials, or equipment throughout rural and/or urban areas. Loads and unloads vehicles by hand ensuring cargo is protected from weather and properly distributed and secured to prevent damage or loss in transit. Ensures that equipment being towed does not exceed the maximum weight limit in accordance with local and Federal regulations when applicable. Performs operator maintenance and washes vehicles. Completes records, accident reports and reports all vehicle issues to the CAC VCO and CAC Manager. Maintains guest accountability and ensures all required forms are completed and signed by guests. Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Commerical Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and one every three years thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have skill in maneuvering and driving vehicles weighing up to 10,000 pounds. Must have knowledge of defensive driving techniques and regulations. Must have skill in securing cargo for transit and knowledge of vehicle weight limits.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
