The primary purpose of this position is to serve the installation as the Community Program and Unit Cohesion Lead Coordinator to plan, manage, supervise and direct a wide range of community programs, services and activities to improve unit cohesion, resiliency, lethality, and readiness for Total Force Airmen.

Duties

This position is temporary and has a Not-to-Exceed date. However, this position may be extended to the fullest legally allowable period without further competition. The appointment may also end early due to lack of work or funds. This position is subject to Administrative Careers with America (ACWA) Testing. Qualifications

Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. GENERALIZED AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 3 progressively responsible experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least NH-01 (GS-04) or equivalent in the Federal Service and related to the work of this position and/or applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the NH-02 broadband, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-05/7/9 or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of experience includes working with business operations policies, procedures, methods, and publicity techniques within one or more of the following areas: military recreation; morale, welfare, and recreation business operations; and/or community wide event planning to develop/revise programs to meet goals and promote patronage; knowledge of a range of methods and techniques for planning and administering recreational programs; knowledge of community readiness programs. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. OR EDUCATION: GS-05/NH-02: 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree. GS-07/NH-02: 1 year of graduate-level education or superior academic achievement. GS-09/NH-02: 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree. GS-11/NH-02: 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of business operations policies, procedures, methods, and publicity techniques within one or more of the following areas: military recreation; morale, welfare, and recreation business operations; and/or community wide event planning to evaluate strengths or weaknesses and develop/revise programs to meet goals and promote patronage. Knowledge of and ability to apply the various methods, techniques and procedures for publicizing programs and activities through all available media and social media (TV, radio, newspapers flyers/brochures, Facebook). Skills in developing, implementing and managing a wide range of recreational programs, services and community activities. Skill in preparing and presenting initial training, briefings and presentations; ability to develop course material for briefings and training materials for a variety of audiences and possess skill in dealing with customers and the public. Ability to plan, conducts and analyzes simple survey techniques and understands, interprets, evaluates and presents data. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
