About the position: This position will be assigned to Lodging at Robins AFB. Must be physically able to frequently lift and empty wastebaskets; frequently pushing carts, weighing more than 100 pounds, loaded with dirty laundry or wastepaper; and occasionally lift and curry items weighing up to 20 pounds.

Duties

As a working leader, performs the following duties: Distributes and balances workload among employees. Observes work in progress, production, adherence to quality and safety standards. Instructs and trains new employees. Elevates unresolved employee complaints or operational issues to supervisor. Provides input on performance, progress, and disciplinary problems. Reports all repair and maintenance requirements according to established policy. Reports all safety violations to immediate supervisor. Updates computer database with room status, occupancy, check-outs and reports on housekeeping area. Ensures adequate stock of cleaning materials and equipment required to do the work. Assists custodial worker in selecting and using cleaning agents safely and cost effectively and instructs them in planning sequence of work. Performs custodial worker duties as time permits or as assigned by supervisor. Cleans guest rooms, storerooms, corridors, stairways, facilities and other areas. Sweeps, dry mops, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors using brooms, mops, lightweight vacuum cleaners, and lightweight floor scrubbers and buffers. Dusts, waxes, and polishes furniture. Empties ashtrays and wastebaskets. Collects soiled linen and replaces with clean linen. Perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and one every three years thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Ability to lead 3 or more custodial workers to accomplish housekeeping assignments. Must have functional experience and demonstrated knowledge of facility/equipment in housekeeping and the ability to build teams and work with others. Must have experience and knowledge of housekeeping principles and practices. Must be able to plan, coordinate, and time sequence steps needed to meet time constraints of work assignments. Experience and knowledge must have been gained either in a military lodging program or commercial hotel/motel.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
