This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: At full performance, responsible for the development of contract drawings and standard detailing for structures, utilities, mechanical, and electrical features, or equipment. **THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION. THE DUTY LOCATION IS BRIDGEPORT, WA.**

Duties

Prepares as-built and field verification of data for structures, utilities, mechanical, and electrical features, or equipment. Receives sketches or information from engineers and/or engineering technicians to be developed into final engineering drawings or illustration packages. Exercises judgment in material and metal selections, design efficiency, installation procedures, sizes, and tolerances. Performs automated drafting utilizing personal computers, digitizers, digitizing tablets, electrostatic and pen plotters, scanners, and a variety of automated drafting software. Responsible for routine system maintenance of hardware associated with the computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) systems. Responsible for verifying that all electronic drawings are in compliance with Architectural, Engineering and Construction (A/E/C) Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) Standards. Works with staff and project managers to coordinate appropriate small projects with limited scope and complexity.

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Minimum Qualifications for the GS-04: General and Specialized Experience: Six months of general experience (1) in any type of work that demonstrates the applicant's ability to perform the work of the position, or (2) experience that provided a familiarity with computer aided design (CAD) AND six months of specialized experience which includes providing drafting support to engineering related projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-03). OR Education: Two years of education above the high school level that included at least 12 semester hours in any combination of courses such as engineering, engineering or industrial technology, construction, physics, drafting, surveying, physical science, or mathematics. At least 3 of the 12 semester hours must have been in drafting. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education by 60. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) Minimum Qualifications for the GS-05: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with the development or modification of simple engineering 2D drawings and 3D models utilizing computer aided drafting software. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree (a) with major study in an appropriate field of engineering, construction, or industrial technology; OR (b) that included at least 24 semester hours in any combination of courses such as engineering, engineering or industrial technology, construction, physics, drafting, surveying, physical science, or mathematics. At least 3 of the 12 semester hours must have been in drafting. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) Minimum Qualifications for the GS-06: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing detailed CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) drawings for engineering projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Minimum Qualifications for the GS-07: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience using Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) systems, such as Bentley MicroStation Version 8 (or higher), AutoCAD version 2018 (or higher), AutoCAD Civil 3D 2018 (or higher), Revit 2018 (or higher), or ArcGIS PRo. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, at the GS-06 or GS-07 grade level, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
