You will serve as a HOUSING MANAGER in the Housing Department of NAS PENSACOLA.

Duties

You will develop and recommend changes to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure uniformity of operations. You will coordinate the military family housing, bachelor housing and PPV management programs to assure adequate services and facilities are provided. You will monitor housing programs (e.g., family housing, unaccompanied housing) to resolve program issues related to housing operations. You will promote an effective working relationship with community organizations affecting off-base housing including local government, police and fire departments, schools. You will determine requirements of resources to support assigned housing facilities and infrastructures. You will compose changes to housing policies, procedures, and practices to increase efficiency.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Identifying and using advanced management and planning techniques to solve a wide range of complex problems arising from the widely dispersed multi-family and/or bachelor housing facilities of varied structural designs, conditions and age; 2) Developing, establishing, implementing and monitoring regional management and operational practices, procedures, and policies for the purpose of cost effectiveness, planning, consistency, and efficiency of housing operations; 3) Developing long-range housing management plans utilizing market trends, construction methods, costs; design features and supply and demand ; and 4) Responsible for the overall appropriated fund and non-appropriated fund fiscal operations of the housing operations.
