As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding.Serves as a front-line manager, directs the work of subordinate technical employees, advises higher management levels on matters pertaining to assigned programs.

Duties

Directs the work of technical & professional staff in the accomplishment of the Directorate’s program and serves as the principle advisor to management related to activities of team members. Incumbent establishes policies, procedures and guidelines that affect the team’s operational function. Managerial duties include setting priorities; assigning tasks; monitoring and evaluating performance; coaching and developing employee capabilities; approving leave; and taking or recommending corrective/disciplinary action, as appropriate.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)
  • Successful completion of a security investigation may be required.
  • A one-year supervisor/managerial probationary period may be required.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position at the FV-J level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of Specialized Experience equivalent to the FV-I (GS/FG-13) level. Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE includes: Experience involved with collection, selection, analysis, evaluation, and preparation of reliable aeronautical information on navigation and related operations, including publications related to navigation.Applicants may be asked to verify information on your application for employment with the FAA.Applicants should include examples of specialized experience in their Resume/Work History.Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
