About the Position: This position is located at Ft. Novosel, Alabama, home of the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence. Fort Novosel is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Recreation activities are abundant in the immediate and surrounding areas for family and fun.

Duties

Perform a wide range of duties to assist the International Military Student Office (IMSO) in the training coordination of the Security Cooperation Education and Training Program (SCEPT) for Internal Military Students (IMS). Serves as advisor for Fort Rucker’s Security Cooperation Education and Training Program (SCETP) to include administration, training, modifications, training management and student disposition. Serve as Pay Technician which entails determination of Temporary Living Allowance (TLA) entitlements, processing pay adjustments, responding to pay inquiries, understanding pay procedures and regulations. Coordinate academic training of International Military Students at Fort Rucker. Use various computer programs daily to accomplish duties.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of less than 25% of the time.
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter,
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess and maintain a valid state driver's license in one of the 50 states or possessions to operate a 15-passenger van to transport students on/off installation.
  • Position is subject to initial and periodic/random drug testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • Must sign DA Form 5019-R as a condition of employment. Detection of drug usage through confirmed positive urinalysis test results may result in failure to meet the conditions necessary for continued employment in this position.

Specialize Experience: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Conducting student training for assigned Aviation Combat Tactics Courses 2) Reviewing and modifying lesson plans training courses in accordance with regulations and procedures 3) Utilizing a variety of Training Aides, Devices, Simulations and Simulators. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. (NOTE: You MUST attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Decision MakingPlanning and EvaluatingTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-7).
