About the Position: This position is with the St. Paul District. The position assists with Public Affairs programs.

Duties

Performing as a web content manager with responsibility for maintaining information on the District’s internal website. Providing training to assigned intranet page managers and works with them to ensure the site remains current. Assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of the District’s external/public website, using American Forces Public Information Management System (AFPIMS) and social media platforms. Producing written and visual (photo and video) news articles and feature stories that tell the Corps of Engineers story. Writing, researching, and disseminating routine press releases on non-controversial District activities and programs. Receiving telephone calls and emails from the general public and news media. Supporting the planning and execution of a variety of internal and external events designed to share/exchange information with targeted audiences.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A valid state driver's license is required.
  • Incumbent may be required to travel/perform Temporary Duty (TDY) 15% of the time.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. General Experience: Three years progressively responsible experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level which includes (1) analyzing problems to identify significant factors, gathering pertinent data, and recognizing solutions; (2) planning and organizing work; and (3) communicating effectively orally and in writing. This definition of general experience is typical of the work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 36. Then divide your total number of completed undergraduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 120. Add the two percentages.
