About the Position: Serves as the Facility Operations Specialist for the Fort Carson Training Support Center (TSC), Medical Simulation Training Center (MSTC) which supports Army Active Component, National Guard, Reserve and all other Federal and DoD personnel.

Duties

Conduct certification training on medical TADSS and equipment. Briefing training utilization, medical TADSS initiatives, and coordinating training opportunities. Identify training materials to be updated based on changing guidelines or knowledge requirements. Serve as the Fort Carson MSTC Collateral Damage Safety Officer (CDSO). Ensure property and equipment is properly inventoried IAW Army regulations. Provide technical requirements and descriptions of the work to be accomplished. Maintain the physical condition, maintenance, safety, and facilities management of Fort Carson Medical Simulation Training Center. Brief leadership and personnel on training program initiatives.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Overtime work may be required.
  • 15% Travel Duty may be required.
  • Physical is be required, as lifting up to 75 lbs is necessary.
  • May be required to use protective clothing or gear, such as masks, gowns, coats, boots, goggles, gloves, or shields.
  • May be exposed to working around moving parts, carts, or machines.
  • May be exposed to contagious diseases or irritant chemicals.
  • Must have a BLS Instructor card at the time of employment.
  • The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
  • The position may be required to work outdoors in elements.
  • Incumbent must have a valid government driver's license and be able to obtain and maintain a Troop Motor Pool (TMP) license.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. This position has a selective placement factor - Must have Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician certification.
