About the Position: This position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center within the Office of the Troop Commander, Fort Sam Houston, TX. The primary purpose of this position is to support a variety of supply technician functions for a brigade-sized hospital unit with an average of 5000 combined military and civilian personnel.

Duties

Maintain, order and track supplies through an automated system. Serve as a government credit card holder with authority to purchase and issue supplies and equipment. Assist staff/customers with initiating requisition of supplies. Utilize office automation equipment to compose correspondence and documents. Review/edit supply requisitions for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with Army regulations.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • A favorable National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI), Tier 1 Investigation is required for this position.
  • A pre-placement medical examination is required.
  • This position requires incumbent to routinely lift materials weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.(Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) Advancement requirement to positions up to GS-05: Candidates may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to GS-05 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non-temporary competitive appointment. NOTE: To support the Advancement requirement you MUST submit a copy of your latest non-award SF-50/Notification of Personnel Action that reflects your highest grade held on a permanent basis along with your application/resume package. Failure to do so may affect your rating or consideration for employment.

Education
