About the Position: Provides support on a variety of district initiatives such as Leadership Development Programs (LDP), District Training program, District Telework program, and provides support related to travel, purchasing, personnel, VIP visits, and Family Support coordination.

Duties

Provides advice and assistance to management and employees in association with the management of the LDP. Provides logistical support for training events. Provides advice and assistance to management and employees regarding Telework program. Utilizes the Corps of Engineers Financial Management System (CEFMS) to originate/execute Purchase Requests and Commitments. Prepares travel orders in conjunction with training, conference attendance, and other TDY travel. Prepares a variety of documents including correspondence, memoranda, and forms Provides support for VIP visits and special events. Prepares Requests for Personnel Actions (RPAs) for employees throughout the G and A offices. Government Purchase Card (GPC), cardholder. Serves as the District Family Support Coordinator.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver license in order to participate/attend off-site meetings and recruitment events and to fulfill family support coordinator duties (home visits, family outreach, etc.)
  • Must complete the required initial training and obtain a Government Purchase Card (GPC) within 6 months of being appointed.
  • Must be able to provide logistical support to include lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling tables, chairs, etc., weighing up to 15 lbs.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience in four (4) or more of the following (1) administrative oversight of organizational programs, (2) completing purchase requests using an automated financial system; (3) preparing correspondence in final form; (4) coordinating and preparing travel orders and vouchers, (5) creating, editing, and reformatting reports, (6) assisting with recruitment/manpower initiatives, and (7) processing personnel actions . This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources or Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: ClericalCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical)Information Technology ApplicationManages and Organizes Information Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
