This position is located on Fort Johnson in Leesville, Louisiana.

Duties

Supervise and oversee the management and operation of a Fitness Facility. Assist in the development of budgetary and manpower requirements and recommends adjustments due to changes in program demands or hours of operation. Establish employee work schedules and performance objectives and appraisals. Continually assess facility requirements and develops plans and specifications for projects to augment or replace fitness and sports facilities. Serves as facility expert for major and minor construction projects, providing input to Public Works and contractors on work plans, schedules, methods, objectives and impact of work. Publicizes sports facilities, programs and events by writing articles for local newspapers and coordinates with marketing for posters, flyers and other promotional material. Oversees the inventory of property; fitness equipment condition; tracks maintenance and repair or replacement as appropriate.

• A one year year supervisory probationary period may be required.
• Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
• Possesses and maintains the following certifications: CPR, First Aid, and AED.
• Must complete the following courses/classes: MWR Orientation Course, Customer Service, and Equipment (Safe Operation and Basic Maintenance Repair)

Qualifications

The minimum qualifications for this position: 1. Possess directly related work experience in planning, supervising, administering or carrying out a sports program that includes a variety of individual, and team sports, and guiding participants in developing the skills needed for participation in sports activities and teaching the techniques of various sports. 2. Experience that includes the demonstrated ability to manage and operate complex multiple fitness facilities. 3. The related work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. **Any work experience meeting the standard minimum qualification requirements, MUST be reflected in the submitted resume for the vetting process. **The required certifications listed within the requirements section of this announcement must be submitted at the time of application.
