Duties

Serve as team leader, assuring that the work of the team is carried out. Serve as the authority on traceability documentation submitted for DNA marking. Conduct extensive research and analysis involving the traceability review process. Conduct liaison and coordination responsibilities with internal and external stakeholders. Perform testing on a variety of electronic devices using Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and devises complex test equipment setups. Serve as a technical authority in making technical decisions leading to the proper selection, test and evaluation, and quality control of electronic devices, assemblies and sub-assemblies.

Qualifications

A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Reviewing electronic testing data results for validity. Conducting research and analysis. Making decisions on the acceptability of electronic devices. Quality assurance representative for a project. Making technical decisions leading to the proper selection, test and evaluation of electronic devices, assemblies and sub-assemblies. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Position is required to lift test equipment weighing a maximum of 75 pounds to the bench shelf, a height of approximately 50 inches. Duties require the position to stand on his/her feet for periods up to two hours. Position is required to endure some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching (or similar activities) The work is performed in a test laboratory area and throughout various manufacturer plants, government and commercial laboratories. Some walking and bending and prolonged standing with intense concentration may be required. Incumbent may be exposed to dangers of electric shock, liquid, and gaseous pressures, mechanical stresses of tension and compression, and extreme temperatures of heat and cold.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
