You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PIPING NUCLEAR INTERNAL SHOP MANAGER in the Pipe Shop (Code 960) Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901), Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will determine total resource requirements and allocation based on schedules and work sequences. You will coordinate with inside shops, ship's force and various shipyard departments for testing. You will maintain liaison with key management personnel in all shipyard departments, offices, and divisions. You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying knowledge of project management fundamentals. Experience serving at the first level supervisor level of WS-10. Experience making decisions difficult situations. Experience applying administrative knowledge of shop practices. Experience identifying and resolving changing work situations. Experience monitoring cost, schedule performance and taking action to correct negative trends. Experience applying basic knowledge of project management fundamentals.
