This position is part of the Defense Human Resources Activity. The incumbent will be responsible for acting as Senior Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Instructor/Trainer in the Education and Training Directorate, specializing in EEO education and training technology for civilian and military EEO/EO professionals..

Duties

As a EQUAL EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST at the GS-0260-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Provides advisory assistance to DEOMI with regard to policies and objectives governing the application of EEO, behavioral and social sciences research, and its subsequent use. Develops and conducts courses both resident and non-resident, in the areas of EEO Inquiry, Investigation, law, affirmative employment, special emphasis programs; etc., using lecture, conference, case study and small group dynamics. Develops curriculum and conducts EEO training programs for DEOMI in support of DoD EEO requirements. From this perspective, incumbent directly advises the Department Head, EEO Training, on the requirements needed to meet training objectives, thereby orderly management of the EEO portfolio. Develops utilization and technology transfer criteria applied to DEOMI EEO training. Implements studies and analyses of the utilization and technology transfer process. Recommends policy and develops procedures. Evaluates OSD and military department field activities and contractors which are engaged in EEO development related to DEOMI programs. Advises EEO Department Head related to all program evaluations. Represents DEOMI Inter- and Intra-departmental coordination of civilian EEO training efforts.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year minimum of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Advising management officials, employees, or applicants on legal and procedural EEO program requirements, and complaint processing. Drafting and finalizing Management Directive 715 reports. Advising Department of Defense level senior officials on special emphasis program management, and disability program management. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
