You will serve as a SENIOR OFFICE MANAGER in the RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT GROUP, WEAPONS & WARFARE SYSTEMS TEST DEPT of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.

Duties

You will provide general office clerical support, receive incoming telephone calls and take messages, greet official visitors, and arrange for proper identification/passes. You will ensure office equipment is maintained and the office is appropriately supplied, including ordering routine office supplies. You will prepare, edit, format, and route correspondence, including LOS awards, official letters, memoranda, public release requests, invention disclosures, etc. You will make travel arrangements in the Defense Travel System (DTS). Receive, reviews and process corresponding travel claims. You will maintain calendar and schedule appointments, arrange meetings including conferences both on and off center, and track the status of data calls and their due dates. You will review travel documents/receipts and analyze all voucher computations relating to per diem, travel costs, etc. Prepare and process visit requests/security clearances, invitational and foreign travel requests.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band DG-03 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Responding to inquiries from visitors and phone calls. 2) Providing office and administrative support to include scheduling and arranging meetings, managing calendars and schedules, coordinating travel arrangements, and managing office supplies and inventory. 3) Utilizing automated computer systems to create letters, memorandums emails, and generating reports. 4) Processing travel vouchers to reconcile monetary balances owed or due to employees. 5) Creating travel orders to authorize official travel. 6) Conducting research of regulations, files and records and/or contacting personnel on other organizational elements to obtain information desired.
