This position will serve as a Production Controller (Aircraft) in the MRO Logistics Department, Industrial Supply Division, Industrial Product Management Branch, and Fleet Readiness Center - Southwest, which is located in North Island, CA. .

Duties

You will advise management and personnel of priorities, schedules, adjustments and man-hours required to satisfy agency requirements, plants commitments, and assigned program requirements. You will manage production projects involving manufacture and repair of complex items and equipment with a wide variety of component parts. You will analyze and evaluate workload priorities, completion dates and allocation of material, machines, and man-hours. You will monitor work in process to determine that materials are on hand to sustain production schedules and determine need for process or material changes when deficiencies are revealed. You will coordinate with management, budget, procurement and engineering personnel on actions affecting workload production.

  • May be required to work all shifts on a rotational basis and/or work overtime, weekends, or holidays as necessary.
  • This position is subject to moderate lifting, reaching, walking, standing and kneeling.
  • Occasional exposure to noise, eye-hazards, chemical and fumes.
  • This position may entail working outdoors and exposure to outside elements.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower GS-09 Grade Level or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of specialized experience include: (1) Managing components for manufacturing and routing material required to support the rework, repair, modification and manufacturing of aircraft programs; (2) Ensuring funding is available to support repair operations, adjusted schedules, and capacity requirements; (3) Expediting the use of manpower, machines and materials; and (4) Compiling production work data to analyze production operations to determine if schedules are being followed, if they can be improved, and to determine the cause of production delays.
