The National Intelligence University (NIU) is the Intelligence Community's sole accredited, federal degree-granting institution. It serves as the intellectual hub for the intelligence profession, preparing today's leaders for tomorrow's challenges.

Duties

Teaches core and elective courses in the NIU degree program, with strong collaboration with Program Directors, faculty colleagues, and the Dean. Incumbent serves on the National Intelligence University Faculty within the National Intelligence Security Enterprise (NISE) Department, focused on teaching analytic methodologies and strategic warning courses as well as teaching modules in NIU's core and elective courses and conducting research in their area of expertise. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, expanding educational offerings related to strategic warning in intelligence and foundational and advanced analytic methodology. This responsibility includes reviewing the current curriculum, incorporating appropriate updated material, and creating new curricula and courses. This position may also involve creating intelligence exercises/war games/simulations to enhance the student experience. Possess a deep understanding of various analytic techniques, including basic analytic methods, structured analytic techniques (SATs), statistical analysis, data visualization, and predictive modeling. They will teach students to apply these methodologies to analyze complex intelligence problems at the bachelor and graduate levels. The faculty member must have a strong background in strategic intelligence, expert knowledge of emerging threats, trends, opportunities, and warning, and the ability to teach students how to assess these complexities for actionable intelligence. Ideally, this faculty member is interdisciplinary and can bridge the gap between intelligence analysis and new technologies focused on strategic warning. Foster critical thinking, creativity, diversity of thought, and strategic foresight. Additional responsibilities: Serve as a thesis committee member for student research; engage with the Intelligence Community and private sector as appropriate to ensure up-to-date curriculum, stakeholder engagement, and academic outreach; publish research in peer-reviewed journals or other professional outlets.

Qualifications

Successful completion of a full course of study at an accredited college or university leading to a Master's Degree that included or was supplemented by a major study (thesis) or work experience in a subject matter appropriate to this position. Detailed knowledge of analytic methods and strategic warning, as well curriculum in these areas. Experience teaching at the graduate school level and/or presenting analysis to senior policymakers. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information in a clear, concise manner that is targeted to, and meets the needs of, diverse audiences with different perspectives and objectives. Desired Requirements Successful completion of a full course of study at an accredited college or university leading to a Doctorate in international affairs, regional studies, social science, or other related field. Experience with Intelligence Community analysis, and strategic warning. Experience with academic course and program development, including the creation and evaluation of academic assessment data and standards
