You will serve as a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN in the AC/S Logistics, Ammunition Branch of Marine Corps Base CAMP PENDLETON.

Duties

You will requisition, verify, receive, issue, and transfer all ammunition and explosives in support of the major commands. You will compute the stockage requirements and correct errors generated by mechanized system, document receipts, requisition, document modifications, adjustments to computer systems, maintenance files, and timely input for computer updates. You will verify all transactions and prepare reports, off-base rough drafts on letters, messages, speed letters, and any other related correspondence, as the acting liaison. You will be responsible for all functions related to the cyclic inventory. You will maintain sufficient assets to supply the need for training, special requirements, and war reserve for all major commands and reserve units, and monitor assets on-hand as well as usage in order to meet demands through timely ordering. You will take immediate daily action on the processing of Notices of Ammunition Reclassification (NARS), and Ammunition Cleared/Not Cleared for Overhead Fire reports, to ensure up-to-date information provides continued safety for all commands. You will utilize a variety of TAMIS/OIS reports such as data entry, customer (unit) requisitions, asset reservation report, technical assets and management reports, and Total Ammunition Management Information/Ordinance Information Systems. You will make missing, stolen, lost, and recovered (MLSR) reports as well as Reports of Discrepancy (ROD) on incoming shipments needed, and utilize correction documents as required.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid California Class C Driver's license.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assists in the requisitioning, verification, receipt, issue, and disposition of ammunition/explosives, as well as other clerical tasks such as computer system operation and data entry, report documentation, and record keeping duties.
