About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. You may need to complete a 3 year probationary period, if applicable. This position is with 7th Signal Command, 21st Signal Brigade, 114th Signal Battalion, located at Adams County, Pennsylvania

Duties

Conduct studies, reviews, and analyses of 114th Signal Battalion command-wide logistics posture. Provide guidance and technical input to operating elements and other staff elements. Develop and implement Battalion logistical and maintenance policies and procedures throughout the organization. Conduct assessment of battalion logistical and maintenance capabilities and posture to ensure logistical programs are performing to the maximum capability. Monitor the Command Supply and Maintenance Discipline Programs and initiates actions required to ensure discipline is maintained. Plan and direct logistical matters concerning the fielding and sustainment of new equipment and the modernization of existing equipment. Manage a variety of command logistical and maintenance programs.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position is designated as Key. The position cannot be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the mission.
  • This position is subject to a 2-hour alert and operational recall and periodic work schedule changes to meet daily mission operational requirements.
  • Employee is required to provide a reliable method of contact and to respond within 1 hour of notification receipt
  • This position requires heavy lifting up to 50 pounds. A pre-appointment physical examination is required.
  • Must possess the applicable license(s) or authorizations(s) to operate assigned vehicles. A valid driver’s license is required.

This position is in the Professional Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by advising management on equipment development, capabilities, limitations, and employment; utilizing automated logistics systems in managing projects or programs; and developing command policy in regards to logistics programs requirements and defending requirements throughout the budget process. OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
