This position is located in the RI Office, Division of Operating Reactor Safety (DORS), Engineering Branch 2 (EB2) in King of Prussia, PA. The supervisor is Glenn Dentel, Branch Chief.  This position is in the Bargaining Unit with the National Treasury Employees Union, Chapter 208.  Position is subject to Office of Government Ethics Confidential Financial Disclosure reporting requirements. Position is subject to the security ownership restriction reporting requirements.

The successful candidate will serve as a region-based senior inspector to lead, plan, conduct, report, and integrate findings associated with inspections of nuclear reactors, in accordance with the NRC Inspection Manual.  As a lead inspector or team member your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, in addition to the basic education requirements, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level (GG-13) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.  SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as work experience in nuclear power plant design, maintenance and operation.  Such experience should have provided you with the full range of knowledge, skills and abilities addressed in the rating factor questions that are associated with this vacancy announcement, in particular, electrical and control systems and components, fire protection and cyber security. A description of how you possess the specialized experience as well as how you meet the qualifications should be addressed in your resume.

Education

Candidates must possess a bachelor's or higher degree in professional engineering, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience demonstrating a thorough knowledge of principles, theories, and practices in the field of engineering.
