This position is in Region 8, Mission Support Division, Grants Acquisition and Interagency Agreements Branch, Grants Management & Admin Section. About Region 8 This is an office-centered position*--you must physically report to the duty station stated in this announcement on a regular basis.*Work-from-home flexibilities may be authorized as described in the Benefits section.

Qualifications

NOTE:  You must meet qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement. To qualify for the GS-14 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level defined as experience managing grants and cooperative agreements in a Federal government agency; experience setting long and short term program objectives; coaching, mentoring or leading others. To qualify for the GS-15 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level defined as experience managing grants and cooperative agreements in a Federal government agency; experience setting long and short term program objectives and leading or supervising a group or team that oversees and administers agreements. Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:  Knowledge of the principles, methods, practices, and techniques of grants and interagency agreements administration to analyze and ensure timeliness and efficiency of program. Ability to advise on technical issues pertaining to grant management. Knowledge of statutes, regulations, related guidance, as well as agency programs, policies, principles, and practices applicable to grants management. Ability to supervise a staff in grants management functions. Skill in developing and implementing tool(s) to monitor progress toward achieving organizational goals and objectives. Ability to represent the Agency regarding issues with grants, cooperative agreements, fellowships, or interagency agreements. Ability to provide leadership in planning, setting priorities and scheduling projects. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
