You will serve as a RESOURCE COORDINATOR (WELDING GROUP) in the Welding Shop (Code 926), Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901), Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will advise on the selection of personnel for off-yard travel by evaluating their place on the Volunteer Travel List, qualifications, training, and skill level. You will brief shop management and recommend corrective action regarding problems with coordination between the shop and project teams. You will provide analytical support to a variety of entities as assigned or in conjunction with senior level management within the organization. You will plan and assign projects and develop performance standards for subordinate supervisors. You will prepare all paperwork for sending personnel TDY.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position requires that the selectee be willing and able to climb ladders and scaffolding.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with the qualifications required to perform welding work Experience scheduling training. Experience assigning and moving resources using the PROS (Project Resource Operations Support) program. Experience applying the knowledge of the Resource Allocation Process. Experience establishing and maintaining logs, records, or databases. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

master's or equivalent graduate degree

or

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.B. or J.D., if related
