You will serve as a FACILITIES MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Business Department, Facilities Division, of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR JACKSONVILLE.

Duties

You will develop programs, policies, and procedures to effect sound management of assigned site facilities. You will determine the total budgetary requirements to support assigned facilities operations, maintenance, and repair plans. You will prepare weekly master schedules of all jobs and meet with department heads and directors to plan upcoming work. You will prepare, submit, and track work order requests. You will develop and manage the Command's safety program, including safety inspections, identification and correction of potential or actual safety hazards, preparation/review of accident reports, and review of accident data.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license and Government vehicle operator permit.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position may be coded as “key” and as such incumbent may be required be removed from their military recall status if applicable. A signed statement of understanding is required.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying working knowledge of Navy and Marine Corps facilities maintenance, repair operations, and related support functions. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Planning facilities projects and establishing objectives, requirements, priorities, and deadlines; 2) Applying general knowledge of Navy financial procedures, practices and controls to manage facilities operations; 3) Analyzing information, defining problems, and recommending solutions to resolve complex or unusual issues; 4) Preparing planning documents associated with service calls, work requests, special projects, and military construction; and 5) Utilizing knowledge of safety programs, including safety inspections, identifying and correcting potential/actual safety hazards, preparing and reviewing accident reports, and reviewing accident data for trend analysis. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
Possession of an LL.M. that is related to this position being filled
or
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience
