As a Facilities Operations Specialist, you will serve for the Desert Southwest Region (DSW), part of the Western Area Power Administration (WAPA), with responsibilities in the areas of Facilities and Operations Management, Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP), Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP), Performance Work Statement (PWS) development and Contract Officer Representative (COR) duties for the Desert Southwest Region and analysis work in all areas of Management Services.

As a Facilities Operations Specialist, you will:
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as three or more of the following areas:
Developing and managing a long-term maintenance program for office or apartment building complexes, hospitals, recreation facilities, military, or other special-purpose installations.
Managing projects over construction and maintenance operations performed by a variety of contractors.
Assist in determining the budget requirements for supporting assigned projects and personnel requirements.
Conduct facility evaluations to by using of a range of principles, concepts, and practices to ensure compliance with applicable guidance's (including, but not limited to NFPA, NEC, OSHA, and UPC).
Time-in-Grade: Current career or career-conditional GS employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional GS employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b). Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to current career or career-conditional federal employees applying for a Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
