About the position: This position will be assigned to the Resource Management at Hill, AFB. This is a Regular Full Time (RFT) position, guaranteed 35 hours weekly. Benefits include medical, dental, life insurance, retirement, 401(k), and annual/sick leave. Pay will be set based on experience and education. Recruitment and Retention Incentives may be authorized.

Duties

Introductory Statement: The primary purpose of this position is ensuring continuous and efficient operation of the Nonappropriated Fund Instrumentalities (NAFI); MWR, CWF, Lodging and non-FSS MWR activities information technology program. The incumbent works under the direction of the Supervisory Information Technician to procure, implement, integrate, operate, maintain, and support all Nonappropriated Fund (NAF) Information Technology to include, Point of Sale, Wireless Fidelity (WiFi), fiber and "legacy" networks. Receives, responds to, resolves, and documents help desk calls. Isolates problems between hardware, system software, application, peripherals, and network devices. Coordinates with activity managers and flight chiefs to resolve program specific issues. Serves as a monitor and/or operations trouble-shooter. Monitors Retail/Resale computer equipment and provides remedial support in troubleshooting and correcting error conditions and system inefficiencies. Recovers data in the event of a hardware or software failure. Ensures the customer receives a full explanation of the problem and resolution, and provides training and/or guidance to prevent re-occurrence. Completes the process by documenting actions in the department help desk database or standard operating procedures. Performs hardware and software installs, upgrades and patches. Travels to different duty sites from the normal duty location to perform hardware and/or software installations and/or upgrades, assess project status and provide IT support when needed. Performs account management, system monitoring, data backup, and software/hardware maintenance as necessary. Performs routine assessments, maintains proficiency in all MWR computer systems. Documents, secure information systems using the appropriate security controls, tools, and processes; identifying and evaluating system risks and specific mitigations and developing remediation actions for identified risks. Performs continuous updating, monitoring, assessment, maintenance, and reporting on the cybersecurity status of department information systems. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience that provides knowledge of the basic principles, theories, practices, techniques, and terminology in subject matter field. A degree in computer/network field is desired but not required. Position requires knowledge of basic LAN/WAN and system principles and practices sufficient to install, configure, and troubleshoot components; knowledge of customer support principles, methods, and procedure for documenting problem resolutions and providing guidance and training to customers. Knowledge of concepts and techniques required to assist in the planning, operating and maintenance of a LAN/WAN, including the installation and implementation of enhancements. Ability to analyze routine network problems and recommend solutions. Work requires some physical exertion such as regular bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching to move and correct computer equipment; and lifting of moderately heavy boxes. Conditions of Employment: Successful completion and favorable applicable background investigation (Tier 3 Level) is required. This position requires IA certification IAW DoD 8570-01-M within six months from date of hire. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance within twelve months from date of hire. Must possess a valid driver's license if required to operate a Government Motor Vehicle (GMV). This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
