About the Position: Serves as the installation point of contact for all unit readiness matters. Incumbent will consolidate Unit Status Reports on personnel (G1), training (G3) and logistical (G4) readiness status and capabilities of Active Army units assigned to the installation.

Duties

Generates monthly unit status reports to present to the Commander. Utilizes databased to maintain Unit Identification Code (UIC) and DoD Readiness Reporting System (DRRS) database in accordance with regulations. Generates organization plans or orders based on guidance received from higher headquarters to support local operations. Conducts security inspections for implementation of physical security program. Ensures personnel maintain proper security clearances to adhere to personnel security guidelines. Prepares Risk Analysis and Sensitivity Reports as required by higher commands.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
  • This position requires the enrollment of the FORSCOM net USR and Force Registration Course, the Anti-Terrorism Action Officer Course, and Insider Threat Program Management Personnel Course within six (6) months of employment.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing military readiness information to include identifying shortfalls in the readiness areas of personnel, equipment, and training; developing and implementing corrective action plans; assembling statistical data regarding unit and command level readiness; and providing technical advice on unit readiness matters. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Organizational leadership, Business Management or Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementManages and Organizes InformationTechnical CompetenceWriting Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
