You will serve as a GG-0132-12 Intelligence Specialist for Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA) at HQ US MARINE CORPS in Quantico, VA, where you will perform intelligence research, analysis, and production of scientific and technical intelligence (S&TI) related to foreign anti-landing warfare equipment and technologies that threaten amphibious operations.

Duties

You will serve as an Intelligence Specialist with responsibility for participating in difficult administration, collection, analysis, evaluation, interpretation, dissemination, and/or other intelligence-related assignments. You will provide scientific and technical intelligence threat information on foreign anti-landing systems to the Intelligence Community and Marine Corps operational forces. You will provide tailored scientific and technical intelligence support to U.S. Marine Corps combat development programs relating to foreign anti-landing and general artillery threats. You will use knowledge of acquisition programs to provide tailored scientific and technical intelligence to support the combat development system and force modernization programs. You will develop and present papers and briefings on assigned areas to senior U.S. government, Department of Defense, and U.S. Marine Corps personnel. You will review intelligence products prepared by other government agencies or other elements of assigned activity for technical accuracy and logical treatment and interpretation of information.

Requirements

  • You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.
  • This position requires a periodic polygraph examination.
  • This position may require a 2-year DCIPS trial period.
  • Shift work and travel required for contingency/exercise support, briefings, conferences and training.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector, such as: 1. Perform intelligence research, analysis, and production of scientific and technical intelligence related to foreign anti-landing warfare equipment and technologies, including amphibious combat vehicles, coastal artillery, beach obstacles, and other systems that threaten amphibious operations. 2. Provide scientific and technical intelligence threat information on foreign anti-landing systems and general artillery threats to the Intelligence Community and operational forces. 3. Coordinate with project managers, staff, and intelligence offices/personnel to either develop or acquire threat intelligence data required for program or operational support. 4. Develop and present papers and briefings on assigned areas to senior leadership and agency personnel.
