You will serve as a PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the Department of Navy (DON) Office of the Chief of Information (CHINFO) on the Media Content Operations team.

Duties

You will verify accuracy of content submitted and ensure compliance with all style guides, communication objectives, regulations, and policies. You will evaluate the success of tactics used to achieve communication strategies and ensure compliance with all standards and regulations. You will evaluate the impact and effectiveness of communication activities and events in the social media domain, while maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including online communities. You will conduct research, planning, execution of social media campaigns and provide recommendations on the command's usage and monitoring of social media processes and platforms to accomplish the communication mission. You will assess the authenticity, accuracy, and value of information in order to provide effective strategies to increase awareness of Navy's mission and to reach specific audiences. You will perform key functions related to the development and maintenance of social media platforms, tactics and strategy which will be used to accomplish a global enterprise communication mission. You will create timely, relevant and compelling content that conveys information concerning a range of subjects related to the organizations’ programs.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing enterprise social media platforms to achieve specific communication goals and objectives; Leading communication and campaign plans designed to achieve goals and objectives aligned to organizational priorities; Creating and editing written, graphical, and/or visual information products for release; AND Assessing how social media content and digital engagement efforts meet organizational communication goals. GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing a variety of social media platforms to achieve specific communication goals and objectives; Assisting with communication and campaign planning designed to achieve goals and objectives aligned to organizational priorities; Creating and editing written, graphical, and/or visual information products for release; Verifying accuracy of content submitted and ensuring compliance with recognized style guides, regulations, and policies; AND Experience assessing the performance of content and digital engagement efforts. Education

GS-11: In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.M., if related
