About the position: This position will be assigned to the Golf Course on Patrick Space Force base. This position is a regular part-time position with benefits to include: Health and Life Insurance, 401K and Retirement. This position requires shift work to provide coverage on days, evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Scheduled hours will be 20-34 per week. Must be able to life and carry objects weighing 50 pounds or more.

Duties

Applicants will be reviewed and referred on the following dates: Apr 30th, May 7th, 2024 and closing on May 23rd, 2024. Announcement will close once position is filled. 1. Inspects, repairs, and replaces batteries, motors, solenoids, tires, steering devices, wires, bearings, charging units, canopies, upholstery, and other working parts on battery-operated electric golf carts. 2. Makes general repairs to mechanically operated braking assemblies, steering assemblies, and drive gears. Charges batteries and maintains proper water level in batteries. Uses electrical test equipment, such as voltmeters or multi-meters to check circuit continuity. Uses a variety of socket wrenches and other mechanic's hand tools in performing mechanical assembly and disassembly. May advise supervisor of bench stock level and any special parts required. 3. May perform incidental cleaning and painting tasks, such as using hand brush to paint the inside of the battery compartment with acid-resisting paint, and painting the outside of motor armatures. 4. Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
  • Must be able to lift and or carry objects weighing up to 80 pounds and complete a pre-employment physical.
  • This is a drug testing designated position, subject to random drug testing.
  • May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty to include nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience which demonstrates the applicant's ability to inspect, repair and replace components and accessories on electric golf carts; ability to use electrical test equipment; and ability to read and interpret parts manuals and manufacturer's repair manuals. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds. May occasionally be required to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to actively stand, bend, stoop and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Exposed to the possibility of cuts, bruises and electric shocks. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
