Duties

The Assistant District Manager for Operations directly or indirectly supervises a large organization of permanent, full-time employees and seasonal employees. He/she provides direct and indirect supervision and managerial leadership to various supervisory and non-supervisory personnel in a variety of occupational specialties. The Assistant District Manager is a member of the District Leadership Team. Principal staff specialist to the District Manager for programming, directing, and coordinating programs in Engineering, Road Maintenance, and Recreation. Tracks sub-activity or program accomplishments and progress toward targets in Operations' programs. Evaluates program goals and objectives and makes adjustments in programs as needed. Responsible for District program evaluations of resource management programs within area of responsibility to ensure Bureau quality standards, technical and procedural adequacy, and consistency with resource management plan objectives. The ADM-Operations is a member of the Deputy District Manager's staff and the District Leadership Team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level in which you are applying: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience providing guidance on all phases of an organization's work programs comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service and/or private sector performing the following: (1) providing direct supervision over various supervisory and non-supervisory personnel in a variety of occupational specialties; (2) implementing multi-year work plans, strategic plans, land use plans or similar long-term planning in a Natural Resource environment; (3) evaluating program goals and objectives in order to make operational adjustments as needed; and (4) assessing resource management programs to ensure technical and procedural adequacy, as well as consistency with resource management plans. TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. You must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as "varies".
