Duties

The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period is May - November, but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: May 5th DUTIES: Operates gasoline or diesel-powered engineering and construction equipment with wheeled or crawler type traction, such as road graders, tractors with bulldozer or angle dozer blades, front-end loaders, backhoes, wheel loader, trench diggers, and large industrial tractors with pan or scraper attachments. Some of these vehicles may be equipped with auxillary attachments (mower and sweeper or sanding units) Operates equipment to push, pull, pile, excavate, backfill, grade or level earth and/or refuse. Uses equipment to perform such functions as cutting, moving, digging, grading, and rolling earth, sand, stone, and other materials, and to maintain ditches, road shoulders and beds. Motor grader is used to grade and ditch, plow or clear debris, generally flat road and ditch surfaces where grading stake is not. Operates front-end loader for the process of moving dirt and materials, and filling trucks. Uses backhoe to dig and backfill ditches. Uses boom for placing pipe, hydrants, and other large objects in utility and road maintenance operations throughout the park. Uses dozer to rough in new construction sites, move stumps, rocks and brush, and stockpile gravel. Uses the grader, loader, dozer and dump truck to maintain roads and remove/move fill. Uses equipment to perform land fill maintenance, roadside brushing, etc. Loads, secures and hauls equipment to and from project sites using truck and trailer.

To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision (SCREEN OUT) Operation of motor vehicles Work practices(including keeping thins neat, clean, and in order) Ability to interpret instructions, specification, etc. (related to mobile equipment operation) Ability to drive safely (motor vehicles) Ability to operate safely (non-motor vehicles) Reliability and dependability as a Engineering Equipment Operator If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT factor above is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration.
