This position is located in the Office of Open Source Intelligence, Directorate of Threat Investigations and Analysis, Bureau of Diplomatic Security, Department of State. You will be responsible for providing special project support to a team engaged in the monitoring and analysis of open source materials.

Duties

Identifies, distributes and prioritizes tasks in accordance with established work flow; making adjustments to accomplish objectives in accordance with established mandates to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks. Ensures intelligence product relevancy, timeliness, and quality to ensure the analysis is responsive to the needs of consumers and complies with policy and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Develops a variety of analytical products in support of consumer investigation and protective intelligence operations. Provides expert technical advice and guidance in the planning and execution of open source collection and analysis operations.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Incumbent will be subject to random drug testing.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • Obtain/maintain eligibility to access Sensitive Compartmented Information

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all the required qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement.  NOTE: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements, by the closing date of this announcement. Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F. Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: -Experience applying management and program analysis concepts, methods, and practices to conduct comprehensive analysis of programs and resources. -Experience developing policy and operational objectives on workforce planning, investigative, and/or protective operations. -Experience defending recommendations and serving as an authority on matters related to the analysis of open-source materials detailing threats, political violence, crime, terrorism and/or critical security priorities. There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position.
