Duties

As a Lead Biologist you will: Ensure that the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision, and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work products and services. Provide expert scientific advice, consultation, and leadership in designing, coordinating, and maintaining scientific project goals, Design, oversee, implement, and conduct biological scientific surveys/studies or projects to identify and solve problems. Consult with and advises other Federal Agencies on the development and interpretation of information and the solution of problems in area of specialization.

Qualifications

All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Basic Qualifications: Have a degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. or Have a combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Minimum Qualifications: To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level, which must include the following experience: conducting studies to evaluate the biological effects of various compounds of public health interest. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Copy of your transcripts or equivalent documentation is required for positions with an education requirement, or if you are qualifying based on education or a combination of education and experience. An official transcript will be required if you are selected.
